Joey graduated from Eastern Michigan University with a Bachelor of Arts in English Linguistics and a minor in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL). He has taught students of various ages and socio-economic backgrounds in the United States and in China for over 6 years. Joey has also taken coursework in professional English teaching practices from the British Council, teaching students with specific learning differences (formally special needs), and testing and assessment. He has attained a postgraduate certificate in digital and collaborative learning and teaching from the Mind Lab in New Zealand.
